United Agencies was founded in 2002.

With the sole founding member having, by then, a total input of 10 years experience in the footwear, leather and textile trade, United Agencies was established to fill the gap, offering a alternative to the usual poor customer service and upset fixed pricing structures at major suppliers.

From just two staff members nearly two decades ago we have now grown to six in-house staff and over six agents throughout South Africa.

Our mission is to provide 100% customer satisfaction with competitive price structures and high quality products from original machine part manufacturers.

As a leading thread, spare parts and consumable supplier, United Agencies has prided itself in supplying thread and spare parts to the footwear, automotive and quilting manufacturers for more than a decade.

Our core business is supplying thread to the footwear, quilting, belt, automotive, filter, carpet, upholstery, bag, saddler, tarpaulin, tents and safety belt industries.

We also stock and supply high quality, high tenacity threads, namely Continuous Filament Polyester yarn, anti-static, Poly Cotton Glazed Corespun, Nylon bonded and braided lubricated and waxed thread for hand lacing.

Our specialized threads include Kevlar Para-amide bonded, multi-colour braided together with heavy duty sole stitching thread.

United Agencies believes in quality and holds SATRA certifications on all our threads as well as certifications from DNV.

Together with threads, we supply a full range of all Italian and British Shoe Machinery spare parts.

We provide a total solution for scouring and finishing and also stock a wide range of hand tools, grindery and needles.

We aim to eventually become a one stop shop for manufacturers to acquire whatever they may need to complete their products.
